芮捷锐博士表示澳洲追究中国的意识形态问题，包括人权与统治权，只会拉远中澳关系。
“I think there's been a high degree of ambivalence, on our side, in the relationship about how we respond to China's massive economic rise and presence in the region. We have taken quite strident positions in public on the South China Sea which are way ahead of our regional neighbours."
